I actually kinda like it and I find the photo somewhat relaxing.

Hi All,

The various comments shows me that most of the people where confused with the word "Mirage". Well my idea behind this photo was to present the feeling of the same person, who is caught in the middle of the Sahara desert and looking for water (does have the water mirage).

Similaraly, the image shows the mirage of the light to person who is caught in the land of drakness for a long time and having mirages of the light.

This is photo of the moon in the clear dark sky with the shutter speed of 1 sec to have an effect of mirage.

Perhaps I am devoid of imagination, but I only see a spot of light in a dark background.

What does this mirage express? The picture is a bit puzzling but entertains not for very long. Too simple? I don't know....

You took a picture of the moon without tripod? It is darkness because you can't afford the tripos perhaps? ;)

not quite sure what that is..

I have come back to this image several times but i cannot understand what you are trying to show, maybe it is that if you are in darkness you will trick yourself into seeing light?

Abstract, for sure. When it is not immediately obvious what an image is or what it's message is about it generally will not score well in a DPC challenge. Inobvious art can and does challenge the viewer to think which is good, but you have to give the viewer something concrete to think about.

Most DPCers will no "get" this image and the score will show it. Additionally, object is very, very small compared to the size of the frame.

The white in the middle is just too random for me.

Not much here. Too much empty space.

Would be better if the subject (whatever that is) wasn't in the center. Focus is too soft.
