Thanks for the vote of confidence you guys, I watched the score on this one just keep dropping, I really thought it would do MUCH better than it did. I liked this one WAY better than my flora shot at 5th place, go-figure??

The original on this is a much wider view of this shot. I cropped it down to add detail and …..well…interest, I thought ha ha ha. The monkey in the background is actually in the mist from a waterfall just to his right. ---- I guess it does look a lot like dust. OH WELL…. I had fun and I LOVE a lot of the other shots in this challenge.

Also one of my 10s!!! Tried seeing this one in black and white with some dodging and burning and it looks beautiful! An excellent shot all the way...

I like the effect of having one clear and one obscure in the dust.

I love this shot! You have really caught the moment with this photo. The expressions on those faces are priceless, well done.

They look incredibly sad, especially the one in the background. How pitiful.

Or a zoo, either way. Nice composition, and way to catch him looking.

Great picture. The only thing that could be improved is the sun spot / bald spot. Love the composition, this one scores high with me.

This is truly a great photo. The sun hitting the guy on the rock is perfect. There's a lot of shine on his bald head, but my husband has a bald head and I'm used to seeing that. LOL I love the expression on his face. The "misty" effect on the one below...is it caused from dust or is it a natural effect of the sunlight? I notice that the shadow on the rock face above him starts to fade just a little above him. It almost looks like a touch up. In any event, the contrast is effective there and I like it. Just slight over-exposure on the rock between the two apes and the top of the rock just in front of the one on the ground, but it really isn't that distracting. Above all, this is amoung my top 10 favorites. Good luck in the challenge.

I like the foreground vs background. Is that really mist or is it just dust? The Congo or the zoo? Would like to feel more of an emphasis on one ape, and since they are only sitting and not caught in an action or with some overt body language, I' like to see at least one face better. The rock (plaster?) makes a nice neutral backdrop - but there is a bit too much of it.

Good shot....the guy on the right in the dusty sunlight is great. The old blad one is just the face of the year....lol. Little OOF but still a neat shot.

nice mood in this shot.... technically would have looked better to me if the monkey in the foreground was in focus.....

I like this image a lot. The expression adn pose of the left monkey reminds me of a Zen monk :) The beauty of the image is in the left side: good lighting, nice light/shadow play on the big rock, nice texture. The other monkey suffered from poorer light and that almost gives it an abstract quality; still i like that second monkey. The background behind the second monkey is even more abstract. Congrats on originality of choice. 8 Journey
