| Lovely light and shade patterns which are echoed by patterns of colouring. Nice light in the eye. Interesting tight crop, feels a touch too tight at top and left. 7 |

The strong shadow that shrouds the front of the hawk detracts from an otherwise solid image. A more diffused light source or a reflector to bounce some light back onto the bird would have helped push this up a point or two.
