Nice timing with the horse jumping up. I think this is a little over-exposed, which it would be nice to compensate for.

If you were selling photos to participants and you WEREN'T editing shots (remember event photography generally generates a LOT of shots), then you may want to leave images as polished as possible in camera (which may mean leaving Ev compensation as 0). If you WERE editing shots however (as I do), it's well worth under-exposing by 1/3 or 2/3 Ev. It'll keep the whites in range and will make a nice even tone when you edit them. I can normally brighten up a pic just with auto-contrast/levels, which is very quick. Of course selling to magazines you will also want to underexpose, as you'll only be editing a handful of shots anyway.
