This is the best shot because of the equally mad expression on horse and driver. I wonder if some extra work could make it outstanding. My twopenny-worth:
1) crop the frame all round to include just the heads of the two drivers and the left horse at the top and the wheels and hoovesand some grass at the bottom.
2) selectively blur the background to give it an apparent shallower DOF

This one is the best re the expressions of both the riders and the horses!
I agree with Paul here about the crowds being a distraction. A shallower DOF was needed or that, but you can imitate that effect in ps if you could blur the crowd a little. It would help to bring the horses out.
I love the b&w here. I think it's so exceptional.

I think the horses get lost a little in the background, which could partially be due to the desat. Nice crisp capture of the action though and nicely framed with the cones either side. |
