As a personal fan of orchids, i think this shot is amazing and I know how hard it is to find a good shot of orchids, good work. :]

Beauty is a subjective thing, I know. In my scoring and comments I'm trying to score based on NOT whether or not I would think a particular subject beautiful, but on whether the photographer has succeeded in creating a beautiful photo. I look for the elements of color, lines, focus and dof interest, lighting, and a certain element of grace and lovlieness. I'm looking for a unique and creative appeal for the highest scorers. The description says to create a photo that makes the viewer think "that's beautiful", so it will undoubtedly be very subjective. (This is what I'm putting at the start of all of my comments, and I hope it is helpful.)

That being said, this is a lovely subject, but I don't see it as being photographed in a particularly unique or creative way. Colors are nice, but the composition seems to suffer some, imo. I would crop the right side to totally get rid of the dark background and a lot of the blown out white on that side, and focus on the wonderful colors of the interior portion of the bloom. Focus also seems a little soft, which may have been intentional, but if it was I don't think it adds to the photo. Really pretty flower to photograph.

Very sexual.

Excellent color and framing. Even though it is a part of the blossom I'd recommend cloning out the skinny curly parts coming up from below the frame. They add nothing to the composition and they are distracting to this gorgeous shot. Still, this is one of the best images of the challenge.
