A moment every kid dreams about, along with hitting the first one over the fence. I had a great location to shoot from until the old lady pulled up and parked herself in my field of view. Oh well... :) I will probably get hit for that and the 'snapshot' look of the image but, what can I say? I hope people take some time to actually look at this image - see how the decision impacted the 4 players in the shot. The runner is just finding out, the pitcher already knows, the batter could care less as his at-bat was interrupted, and the catcher has his finger stuck in his eye. Such is Little League!

I really like this shot, and rated it pretty high. The background clutter is outweighed by the kid's faces, they are great. And it clearly fits the topic well.

Ooops, you're right...I (we) were actually referring to the pitcher. This should have scored higher, IMO. I hadn't noticed the old lady...but now that you mention it...

Out of all the photos submitted, this most fits the challenge title.

Tack sharp, nice colours and a definite decision here. The background along the top is a bit of a distraction (car & stands), but otherwise a very nice composition. I love the expressions on the kids at the left.

The look on the light blue kids face is priceless!

Best of the baseball pics. You've not only capture the umpire's call, but the looks on the kids' faces are great and add to the decision made and the challenge theme.

What a GREAT photo!!!! The look on the catcher's face reaks of hating the decision that was made!!! Really good portrayal of a decision.

I don't feel that the image conveys instantly recognizable decision. Good pic.

I love the expression on the kids face. That look of dissapointment when the call doesn't go your way is priceless!

very strong link to the challenge! a referee making a call is a great example of a decision. the picture is technically/compositionally average, but the link to the challenge theme is very strong... especially because so few images meet the challenge well, i'm scoring highly those that do. this gets an 8 from me
