This is such a sad photo as I revisit it in my portfolio today. This section of park where I took this photo in downtown Cleveland is saturated with homeless people, in fact nobody but the homeless usually are there. The bushes are dead in large clumps from being urinated on as shown in the photo and the smell is very strong, the ground is littered with cigarette butts and there are always large groups of birds arounds, mostly pigeons.

I walk through this area from time to time, there is a bit of reality that makes you appreciate the life you have and wonder what moment in these peoples lives changed their course to bring them to where they are. I feel bad for many of these people as I am sure they have hard lives, others disappoint me because I see potential for so much more. I try not to be judgemental, because it is not my place to do so.

Thanks for reading my thoughts...I'll get off my soap box now.

Great shot!

I tried it in Black and White and it didnt appeal to me. Thanks for the comment!

Have you tried desaturating half the colors and upping the contrast? This is a really neat image.

This was my thought when viewing the thumbnail, but after opening I see little similarity other than the wheelchair and framing.

Nicely framed and good eye for a photo-worthy moment. I wonder if it would add to the feeling of isolation if the DOF were even tighter so as to blur the bushes and really bring focus to the person. Great shot as is, just wondering if that would add impact.
