Lovely view. What amazes me is the lack of signs of people around. There seems to be a minor green cast to the image, but that does not detract from it's beauty.

I understand your point, and this would probably be a great place to spend an hour or two, but this image is ok not great. I suspect that as you said in the title it just doesn't translate from 3 dimensions to 2 very well. Nice try, a 5

i'd like to see this in b&w...in this photo, the greens aren't all that flattering and the colours are fairly dull, but the lines and texture could have been the focus in a monotone version. i also would have cropped the top right where that branch bends back down. overall, i think i would have cropped a little tighter on the left and right as well. it really does look like a beautiful spot!

You didn't do too bad a job of trying, though. Nice work :) It's always hard to get the exposure right for these because there's always a risk of blowing out the highlights at the back of the shot, I've tried this sort of thing before. I think you've done well here!

7 and good luck!

It does look tranquil :-) Good composition and an interesting shot. Don't know what you have for editing software, but if you're in PhotoShop, try playing with the Levels and the Color Balance. Maybe adjusting some things in there will make you feel like the picture pops more. I kinda like it the way it is though :-)

Challenge: 7 Just not making me feel "ahh what a beautiful place"
Composition: 7 I wish you would have included more of the small water fall
Technical: 7 Using the small water fall you could have done a timed shot showing motion better in the waterfall.
Creativity: 6 Admire the effort in using a shot like this for the challenge.
Overall: 5

A lovely and seductive emage that can soothe nerves and tickle our aesthetic neurons. I like it more because the colors are not domineering and I also like the soft effect.

"(one of those places the camera cannot do justice)"...then why take the picture? Why not let the viewer look at this image without be steered by this really wierd "title"...Tranquil and Secluded would have been fine on their own, it certainly looks exactly that.

But you made every attempt to capture that beauty and it worked EXCELLENT!

Your title suggests that it cannot possibly be a good picture. Not sure if that was wise. I like the composition, but would like to have seen more of the little falls in the fg.
