A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me.

It isn't very pretty anymore. Some may even think it ugly. That's OK. It was your home. It's where I first grew to love you, where I lay my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It held you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it.

the words and the image - thanks.

I cried when I read your words because they were so beautiful. A really strong and beautiful photo.

a very powerful image and something to be proud of, regardless of the score. speaking for us women that were never able to have children, i can't think of anything more beautiful.

I thought this image was great and am rather dissapointed that it did not score higher. Very nicely done and any mother can appreciate this image.

Alas, art with an edge often does not do as well on this site as pretty graphics do. I had a look at your portfolio. Never mind the ranking on this one, you have a creative eye. Keep on doing what you do.

I can't believe this image ranked so low! It deserved better;)

Great title, and great reflection on the challenge theme. Technically good, maybe a little underexposed (loss of detail in the jeans). The contrast between her delicate hands and her marked belly is compelling. I think a good photo should tell a story, and stir emotion. This succeeds on both counts. Well done. 9

Very brave young lady. I hope those are pride marks for her. Good choice of b/w.

IMO, I don't think it is beautiful. Nice try.

Pregnancy can be a beautiful thing, but personally I can't find any beauty in piercings. 3

I wish people would not explain their photo in the title. To me that tells me it is lacking something.

An interesting image...to me it seems a little flat...I don't see any true whites...I also wonder if this picture may have been more powerful if it were in color...I'm usually an instant fan of all things B & W, but in this case..I'd love to see this in color...esp. those stretch marks.

A jolly good idea,But b/w doesn't do it justice IMO, I think the light needs to be a little more directional 7

I love the shades of grey in this photo. The jeans look so authentic. I think the tummy needs a little more focus.
