Had little time to get this in, but wasn't thrilled with sand granules alone. As I was about to pack it it, I found this crab leg (no crab attached) and took this shot.

dof seems awfully shallow. the subject also seems like the claw rather than the sand.

Nice. I like how the sand is really the only thing completely in focus. It draws the eye straight to the sand, instead of to the claw.

Though it is evident that this is a perished sandcrab due to it being upside down, and I am not one for photos of dead animals, I do love the color scheme and focus on the sand. It is a wonderful picture, and don't fear, I shall not mark off for my stated dislike. :-)

i think a different angle and maybe focus on the points of the claw part would make me like it more cool shot none the less
