Very compelling color swirl, but the overall photograph lacks the same interest. Perhaps a tighter shot using a narrower depth of field? The blue background just becomes less interesting comparatively and therefore distracting.
Interesting! I love the concept, and it's been executed well, but a neutral background would have been better. The bright blue just doesn't mesh with the rest of the colours and textures involved.
The pattern (and idea) is really neat, but the focus seems a bit soft. I think the blue background looks out of place. Perhaps if the bowl was in a white or tan sand the whole image would blend nicely.
