I would say the ant is the subject here, not the sand - otherwise not bad.

Nice macro! A very nifty looking little critter, too. The lighting's not quite right to capture the small details, but it is a visually interesting shot.

the insect (ant) is a little dark, I know it's dark by nature but it seems like you could get some more detail somehow. The grains are great though. 8
