hmm the flash messed you up. try either filtering the flash out with some thing opaque sheet over your flash or just try getting yourself a fairly bright white light, like a halogen and then put a lamp cover or something to diffuse the light.

too garish a color on the apple to have that royal Arthurian feel to it. A deep red apple against green velvet and the high shimmer of the sword might have served your theme better.

Fuzzed too much.

appears your DOF could maybe use some adjustment as your background is more disturbing than helpful. Your apple is quite bright while the sword is fine Good luck

Seem overly bright in the center.

Overall I would have liked a little less glare and better focus.

too much light on the apple.

lousy lighting, but good idea. It looks like you used the flash attached to your camera. Try disabling it, and take more pictures! :)

Apple is very much overexposed, probably a strong flash to blame, this also makes strong shadows that are unsightly. Try different lightsources next time and from other angles as well, that way you will need a tripod and use slower shutter speed with better results..

I think this was a neat idea, but the apple is way overexposed on the side. I"m not fond of the background - all those wrinkles are distracting. It might have worked better if there was no carpet in the shot. The wrinkly cloth might not have been so noticeable if it had extended under the apple as well.

unfortunately you've blown your highlights

why does the apple look so unnatural? it would have been a better photo IMO if the apple had been more normal looking. The sword looks to be behind the apple, not in it. And the apple itself is WAY oversaturated and blown out.

I don't see any focus. The light is too harsh of the silky material and the apple is really fried. Try to cover you lights with a napkin, papertowel of use natural lights. I like your idea but I don't think it worked.
