 Editing: Clone out two lights in the mountain part, select moon and then invert - adjust levels; clone out some specks from the sky; noise removal; Dodge moon; resize; sharpen edges; save for web.

I took this handheld at .7 seconds! We were headed home from Salida and I saw this lovely mountain silhouette with the moon. My husband was too cranky to stop long enough for me to set up a tripod and all that jazz so he just pulled over on the shoulder and I braced myself against the car window as best I could and took some shots. Luckily, I have very steady hands.

The purity of this image is remarkable. I'm not sure I'd have gone with the somewhat greenish tint you have used, I wonder how it would look shifted to a purer blue? Regardless, a strong entry, very well done.

I have such a soft spot for any kind of mountain picture! That amazing, serene sky with the minimalistic moon in it makes this such an incredible photo. I really love it! 10

Nice capture! I know how hard it is to get a shot of the moon so that the light area does not overwhelm the dark, or the dark all but invisible., but you managed to catch even some of the 'facial features'. Any special techniques?
