This crooked tree in the woods near Rauðavatn (Red Lake) got my attention when looking for silhouettes and patterns.
It had grown this way to seek for the light among the big trees, and even though the lower branches were lifeless, the top most were lush with green needles. A lesson in persistance!
Exposure was -2 F-stops to get the proper balance. The original was only resized and then cropped just a bit.
