 This wasn't very complicated.... it just took a hell of a lot of power.

I used 4 Force10 Speedotron monolights bounced off my infinity wall at my work studio. All 4 were pumped up to the equivelent of about 800watts each.

I had no light on me at all to create the siloette effect.

Post Prossessing:

I cranked up the exposure +1 in the NEF
I cranked up the Shadows, Brightness, and Contrast to +100
Then I dodged the fake ipod I have in in my hand. (Its just folded up paper). I could never afford an iPod.

I had headphones on but I could not legally dodge them in without breaking the spirit of the rules. That is why they are not present.

The purple was made with a Photoshop photofilter. Used solid purple at 100% dencity and unchecked "preserve luminosity".

A nice piece of work, reminiscent of the Blue Man ads for the chipsets. Technically flawless, but it leaves me feeling a lack of emotional response.

interesting shot, though as a sillouette without the title I would not have guessed it was an ipod, to me it looks more like a cup, just my opinion though. 7

Really cool, bold image. Great simple combination of 3 colors and simplicity of design, goes well with the iPod style. I would imagine this in a magazine ad.

This looks pretty good. The shadow looks off and it really doesn't
look like an ipod but those are my only two things I can say negetively. - 7

this would've been perfect to me if it werent for the shadow since their ads are straight clean images. very cool idea
