Well, I certainly didn't think this shot would win, but I also didn't expect it to be beaten quite handily by a bowl of nacho chips... Oh well. The tree in the puddle actually is in focus, but the wind was blowing, which created the ripples in the water; Also, I was going for the DOF thing... I thought it was cool that the ground and the reflection were on the same plane but differentially focused. Obviously I liked this better than most of the raters :)

I think this would have appealed to me more if the ground had also been in focus and if we could see a bit more of it. |

very much like the famous Escher print. The setup shows thought. Perhaps using a very tight apeture would allow both the distant-reflected image and the foreground to be in focus. |

I like the colours and the flow in the photograph but IMO it lacks sharpness or an anchor. -6 |

That's quite a picture. Not too sure what it is without more study, but I like the abstract effect. |
