Challenge: Late Night (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon PowerShot S50
Location: Lynchburg, VA Bus Station
Date: Apr 30, 2005
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 50
Shutter: 1/4
Galleries: Cityscape, Black and White
Date Uploaded: May 3, 2005

Shot handheld - at night - at the Lynchburg, Virginia Greyhound station. This shot makes it look so cheery and wonderful compared to how it is in reality. I took a few shots here, but this one was the most interesting. Hmmm...maybe next time I'll submit the really boring and poorly composed one...see how that'll do...sounds like a plan. Anyway...

Post processing involved a conversion to greyscale, crop, curves, levels, resize and save for web. Ain't Photoshop grand?!?

Nice shot... Could have cropped out bright light? I don't know... It's good.

Focus is just a little fuzzy. Upper right-hand light calls too much attention to itself. Nice crop.

great picture, seems to be losing some detail, possibly because of focus? Also i might have cropped more off the bottom

i think it's great that you kept so much of the cobblestone in the foreground; it adds to the depth, makes the image more dramatic, and it keeps this strong diagonal of the curve that's counterbalanced by the diagonals of the roof and lights. i also like the fact that so many of the details in the image are distinguishable, but you stil convery the feeling of a deep, dark night. very rich textures and shapes.

Great idea. Focus is a killer on this one. So much detail, but not in focus. 9
