Our cat Jojo isn't very pleased with the two additions we decided to get so he could have some company. It's been two days, and although there hasn't been a full-blown fight, Jojo just isn't happy and is hissing constantly. He's very good with people, but I guess he's just not a cat's cat. We're giving this a few more days to see if he adjusts, and hope that he will take a liking to the two (Banjo and Spike).

Adjustments:
Curves, saturation of red background, cleaned up furs, cropped, bordered, resized, USM, saved for web.

Thanks all. I'm quite happy with the shot, regardless of how it'd been placed, but I'm very happy as well with the fact that this had become my first ever (and probably only) top 10 in a challenge.

If anyone wants to know, Jojo ran away the night after I took this shot, was missing for more than a day, and then the next morning was found licking himself on the backyard bench. Since then, he made tremendous improvements in terms of attitude towards the two new additions. By last night, they're taking friendly swats at each other.

Jojo was a street cat before we adopted him, and he clearly was reacting to other cats in a way that's perhaps normal out in "the wilderness" of urban Colombo. Banjo and Spike, however, spent the first six months of their lives in the air-conditioned comfort of a diplomat's house, and had just moved to ours a few weeks ago. Their reaction to Jojo was one of amusement. They're smiling at him even as he was growling, spitting, hissing, etc. Although I hate anthropomorphizing, but they must have thought, based on the looks on their faces: "What's his problem hissing and spitting? We're friendly."

Thanks :)

Great shot..love the contrast between the cat and the red..and how the colour supports the anger/tension..framing the white cat with the other too is just plain brilliant too!

This is a great photograph with a story to tell! The doorway frames the white cat very strongly. The red background is so powerful and serves to enhance the tense atmosphere. The 2 mafia cats seen only from the back bring a sinister feel to the picture. But it's funny all at the same time. I love it!

This image interests me in everyway. The angle of the window and the red in the background and the whole composition is outstanding. Even the cat doesn't look ordinary. Wonder if that's why you chose the word Odd in the title. There's something very intelligent going on here. Looks like they have some serious issues to discuss. Maybe because I have not seen shots where cats have been captured like this.

I don't like the lips on that kitty inside. I think you may have over saturated this picture, but am willing to consider that it is just one ugly cat. You have, however, outdone most withe reference to the challenge. You have the camera and two kitties on the outside, and you have presented the view of the inside to the audience. I think a little more depth of field would have been nice and a little more cropped from left and top. A 6.

Could have been better if you have shot from outside showing the emotions of the cats inside

This is great! I love what you've caught here... I just wish you were more zoomed in, or had cropped more, I think there is a lot of extra blank space. Good luck!
