I have noticed two very different ways of approaching this challenge. One is by focusing on a sinle color, and the other is by taking a photo with as many coloes as possible. In a way I think you have done both. You have a very strong purple thing going, which looks cool, and yet you have the reflection on to the CD thing going too. I also think its great when people go out of their way to find a good pic, and I think you have. You havn't really gone the obvious, but done something that still looks cool :) |

I love the colours and lighting here, fits the challenge perfectly. I think the background peeking through is a bit distracting because its not a solid colour. If you had taken a shot more to the right, making the centre row really in the centre, I think the symmetry would really have made this shot striking. |

Try a macro-shot of a cd-r in full light.... |

The colors are very nicely captured and the focus and lighting are good. I would prefer to see a more balanced composition for this subject - show more of the CDs on the right side. |

That's a good idea. I think it might have helped if there was more symmetry in the shot by placing the middle row of CD's directly in the middle. |

Kavey Critique
Initial thoughts
Lovely lighting and purple sheen.
Composition/ Content
I like the positioning of the main (central) row of CDs as well as the half cropped row to the left –but the teeny bits shown of the row to the right is distracting to me. I wonder if you could change angle or viewpoint to get less distance perspective so that this third row wouldn’t show?
I like the line between the left and centre rows – I’d like it to be more close to the vertical within the frame – it’s positioning near a third works well for me.
Background
Seems mucky in between the disks?
Fits The Challenge
Yes – and I love the unusual colours captured.
My Opinion On The Photo
Really like the colours – like some of the shapes too but find the angles/ lines a little unbalanced.

Nice composition but I don't really like the crop. Good colors. |
