cropped and rotated slightly. converted to b/w in channel mixer.

this is a shot of a temporary art installation looking down market street at the indiana state capitol.

it was taken at 10:30pm, if you're interested. not exactly "late," but it was a school night. :)

i had to set up the tripod between the legs of another statue to get this shot. even homeless people were looking at me funny.

Not a bad Idea but this image really needs some contrast boost, it seems severly flat. Also, I can´t help but wonder if this hadn´t been more interesting in colour, those nighttime colours can be quite nice but that´s always just a personal taste so ignore me if you dissagree. Anyway, the composition is pretty good and if you had increased the contrast somehow (curves for example) it could have been a good shot but as it is I find it quite mediocre and gave it a 5.

Effective composition

cool subjects! Great settup. I would only change the street lights to stars by shutting the apurature ( longer exposure). 9

I actually would have liked this photo even better without the little See/speak/hear no evil guys.

I would have liked this better without the little guys in the foreground...I might just be boring, but I love the shot.

Nice exposure. I had problems with a large building where the light levels were low expect for the dome and it wanted to be over exposed.

The three statues at first were a little annoying but when I noticed what they were and what they were facing I laughed. I wish the street lights were not so bright but their rays add a little to the shot. Great tones on the main building. Good shot and good luck

Funny and cute. The building seems slightly out of focus, however; try a smaller aperture.

Interesting. I'd like to see a bit more contrast. Fun shot.

Good details all the way through. Just my preference, the lights are a bit harsh.

Great DOF. Everything looks sharp. I like the updated wise monkeys.

This looks awesome. I almost did mine in black and white because I love black and white night shots. But mine didn't lend itself to black and white as well as this one does. This is great.
