Thanks for those who liked the picture. Yes it's the moon taken with my rebel true a Meade 8in telescope... during the week of the challenge!

Off course many commented the picture as being too soft and not being well focused, but I just gotta say that the moon is about 380,000ft from the earth so you have to deal with:
1. light polution, 2. humidity, 3. soft clouds, 4. very ow light (so high ISO) 5. the movement of the earth vs the moon with a very high magnification. So astrophotography is not as easy as shooting an object on the earth and it's almost impossible to get a good crisp image. I was very happy since it was my fisrt attempt and it's not so bad as my score tell moreover when I compare it to other moon pictures I saw on Internet. Of course you'll have more cripier image taken by hubble or any other devide that is not under the atmosphere and that is built by the NASA!

Thanks again for those who liked it for what it really is: scientific passion to see the moon as close as possible and not expacting to have the picture as crisp as if it was Neil Armstrong who took it! :)

Now this is a serious rock without which we wouldn`t be here. This is pretty sharp for such a high magnification but i expect you`ve been told it`s not by people who have never tried this. Very good effort. 9

Astrophotagraphy is pretty difficult stuff... so kudos for the time and effort it took to work on this shot... but the picture quality isn't what it could have been if you'd selected a different subject.

Just another moon shot through a telescope.
What kind of Telescope dd you use?

the focus is a bit too soft on this one

Woah man! That's pretty close, if it is really the moon. Great astro

nice moon shot, but it could be a bit crisper. are you using a tele lens, or shooting through a telescope? (I'm guessing the later)

Great idea
but needs more focus

little too out of focus for me
