Thank you for the comments everyone! I didn't really go out with the intention of taking photos for this challenge. This just happened to be in my camera after getting back from the NYC GTG on 4/17.

But I must say that to anyone who thinks the statue takes precedent and takes away from the "PEOPLE" challenge, just remember that statues were people too!

:)

I love the humour in this photo. It's just a pity you chose a time of day when the lighting was so harsh.

Bloody theme parks - way too strict!

This is a cute picture – for this challenge though I really think the statue is overshadowing the people as a subject. I think it’s hard to stand beside a 40-foot statue and stand out on your own merit. =) Also their faces are really not in focus, which would have brought more attention to them.

I'd like the ladies to take up more space in the photo, as it is, it's hard to see them. I'd try for an angle from in closer, looking up at the ladies, this way you could get the entire statue in the shot as well & use perspective to have the ladies closer in.

Seems to me to be a vacation shot. Not really a good shot for this challenge.

AWESOME... title! :)
Not a bad shot either. The subjects are relatively minor in the composition though. Good job overall.
