Infrared? How long did she have to stand still??

Dosen't really work for me. Maybe if the desat was on the background.

Interesting shot and a great background.
Not really sure the selective desaturation works that well on this one though, as it makes the sky & the water the main focal point as the eyes are drawn naturally to the part that jumps off the page (the color), instead of being drawn to the focus of the challenge, being people.

Great place to take a picture. The girl looks almost too posed for this shot. Maybe a bit heavy on the Neat Image also...

using the desat behind her you loose focus on the girl. the clouds are beautiful but that's not where you want people looking at.

Excellent selsctive desat. A winner for me.

Selective desat really brings the subject to life. I think though if you would have done the selective desat in the opposite way from front to back.

Nice colors and the pose is interesting. I will have to try taking all the green out of some of my photos and see what they look like. 7

Nice infrarred picture, but light is a bit too harsh and shadows covering her face diminish the impact effect of her smile.

Not too sure how I feel about the selective desat, but the effect is interesting. It'd have been great if it wasn't quite so processed, but this is still a great picture. Interesting take (tying the title in with the effect); it's fun to see something different. Focus and such are very good, and the setting is great.

Infra-red? Great contrast and clarity.

most ppl would have desaturated everything but the girl
does not convey the idea of space to me
nice comp and posture, but the desat is a major turnoff for me

I wonder if you will get comments such as 'the background' on colour distracts from the little girl'? Personally I love the way you have done it, bit more light on the girls face would be better, but overall very nice!

I'd rather see the child in color and the scene in black and white. She is the subject of this image. I do like the background and her open armed stance.

Interesting use of IR. I don't oppose to the use of IR, I just feel the pose of your subject doesn't add to the shot. Had you used a more inviting flattering pose it may make for a more powerful image.

Nice work however I think you can improve this if you would have left the color there. I think changing to b/w and leaving the blues hurts this more than helps it. 7 anyway.

Edit: spelling

Execellent use of selective desaturation. Can't help but wish I could see her face better to draw her in and make her the the focal point. 8

The photo looks brilliant in more ways than one, donĀ“t care too much for this overexposure look, way too cold for such a sweet model....

Gorgeous photo, really suffers with the selective desat. The subject looks pasted on. I think this would do much better in color.
