Hello again :-)

You have a nice composition here. I like the line of pearls and the mix of leafs below them. You already mentioned the few things I was going to comment on. The glare of the light, the color tone and saturation of the leafs, etc. The only other technical aspect would be the focus. It seems off some how. Not blurry really, but just not real sharp. Did you use a tripod for this shot? With that slow of a shutter speed you had to. If so, did you use a remote shutter release or timer? Maybe the focus issue is camera shake when you press the shutter. Your picture doesn't have any compression issues.

This is a nice concept and good composition. I think that as you get a handle on your lighting and colors you will be grabbing many ribbons.

These are real sugar snap pea pods. I carefully opened this and placed pearls in it.
I tried photographing this under a light tent to soften the glare, but the pearls still took on the reflection of light. They also took on the green tone of the pods. So I desaturated a the whole image a little to eliminate the green on the pearls. Unfortunately it also washed out the green of the pods.
Thanks to all of you who commented.

Good idea. I think it would have been a better macro shot if you could have moved in and used only 1/4 of this image.

lovely colors and detail...lighting is just a bit harsh on some of the pearls, but, all in all, a beautiful photo.

Wow! everything about this photo is nice. The lines, the colors, the lighting. They really do look like pearls, and the green you've captured is stunning. 10 for sure!

This is just beautiful, interesting, artistic & cleaver. The water is a great addition. My only suggestion would be to diffuse the lighting on the pearls, but it also might hurt the detail in other spots. This is a 10

I would have preferred the pearls standing out in a brilliant white color (though maybe not possible, look like silver pearls). Nice detail, decent composition.

Color saturation is well done here and the lighting is perfect for this image. Very creative substitution of the pearls. It all just works nicely.

Are they pearls or peas?? Made me take a second look. I don't care much for the color of the pea shell, but what a very clever idea you have here.

Something doesn't seem right with the color here.

Pretty shot, nice light but the colors are muddy. There is also a lot going on here. Over all not bad, just dead colors..

the lighting in this picture doesn't do justice to the subject. I'm sure those pods aren't pukey yellow/green. Very clever idea

Nice idea. The green pods look a little sickly (white balance?) but otherwise, this is great.
