 Plastic tacks shaped like pens stuck into a summer squash. Increased their saturation and added contrast and sharpening using PS7. Also cloned out a few distracting blemishes in the paint.

Pity you hadnt chosen a different coloured background, Red would seem the obvious choice here.

strange little things. Where are the tacks? ;) I think a greater DOF would have improved this image. It looks a little flat also. Kudos for finding an interesting tack to photograph. 6 from me!
