 Between Sacramento and San Francisco, CA - the terminus for the Pony Express route - there were eight different stations to relay the mail and relieve riders from 1860-1861. The Davis site (now home to the University of California, Davis) housed the Solano House, the exchange point for mail and riders. This is all that remains of that building, abandoned in 1861, upon completion of the transcontinental telegraph.

Nice composition. I wish it were a little sharper, but it is still very effective. Neat old ruins.

Good choice of view. But the focus is way too soft and the image looks greatly over-exposed. I think I'd have cropped the blown sky to a minimum and gone more for the great old walls.

I don't think the contrast is strong enough. The big pine on the left detracts from the overall size and shape of the building.

not much left of this building, certainly abandoned for a long time! lighting looks a little harsh in spots some detail lost but a good subject
