I gave it a 7. Now I see that the forground are feathers I would give it an 8!

I think there was some confusion about the shallow DOF here and the background (My fault for not relating this in the title). I didn't do any editing to create the blurred effect - it was all done in the camera. This is actually an image of a peacock through its own feathers (the background and the foreground are all feathers, not leaves or foilage). I can see why it would be confusing and now that I see the scores, etc. I should have submitted another similar image of the same peacock but with a more detailed DOF. Thank you to everyone who voted and commented - it's much appreciated!

Great sharpness on the peacock's head...but the blurred background is a little distracting... it doesn't seem very nice that background.

Love the sense of surveillance photography here - those foreground leaves. the fframing is difficult - the obvious suggestion is to get the bird more strongly in frame, but if you cut off the more in-focus of the yellow grass elements image right, those foregound out-of-forus bits become simply a distraction: this way they have a point of origin, which makes them understandable and thus not a distraction (for all i can imagine the other comments). I wonder if you've got slightly too much blue on the thing's head? Has a slight look of colour clipping, confusing the sense of texture there for me.

Wow what a fantastic composition with rich, saturated colors. An instant favorite.
