 Went around town and found this beauty just as I was heading home. A couple of Parking Lot attendants let me park for free while I staked out the photo.

I set the camera for higher contrast and medium sharpen.

Post processing was levels, reduce yellow saturation, increase the saturation on the blues and reds. I also increased the hue a bit and sharpened once with PS. I also resized and saved to file size.
I feel like I may be getting better. At least I'm having fun.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I agree with e201 that the photo needs more resolution, I should used a USM or sharpened to return the texture to the wall. Maybe that is what ReallycolorBlind meant. I'll keep trying.

This image was taken at a very nice angle, i like how you caught the stairs in the image, and the brick wall. Its neat that you can tell that it is abandoned becasue of the boarded windows.

Seems to lack detail and resolution - which has killed a sense of texture in those bricks.

Very good composition. Nice patterning. I'm not sure what it is, but it just lacks that little extra something that could have made this a great photo. (if I could figure it out, I'd tell you) I still like it though and I think it's going to do well.

Great composition with the fire escape to the right. Just enough bright blue sky to lend color to an otherwise drab brick building.
