 just a little something i got from Classic Photoshop Effects...

making a soft vignette

1) open an image
2) click the Rectangular Marquee tool and draw a border just inside the border of your image
3) under the Select menu, click on Feather and set the radius to 10, then click OK
4) under the Select menu, click Inverse
5) make sure your background color is white (type D
6) press the Backspace key, the Ctrl-D to select
7) save as a different filename
