 I decided to take a very simple approach to this challenge and go with a spring theme, since spring is really the beginning of so much in the natural world. I'm not expecting much score-wise, but I think it's pretty.

Editing: Resize, curves, hue/saturation, sharpening, light Neat Image, cropping, border.

Whatever is in the lower right corner background is pretty distracting, other than that, nice shot

gorgeous image - great detail. Wish that there was fractrionally more light on the stalk to the bud. good bokeh. Wonder if coimpositionally might have benefited from losing a bit on the right?

So very simple and perfectly exquisite. Unusual coloration and fantastic DOF and background. I think your choice of frame is highly effective.

Very crisp photo. I like the colors of the bud. The background shadows are a bit distracting.

This is the best "bud" shot I've seen yet, however, I'd have preferred if you used a reflector at the bottom/left to get rid of the harsh variation b/w light and dark and also if you could have gotten rid of the shadow at the bottom.

Not sure why, but I'm not exra-fond of the crop. I do, however, love the texture.
