I live across the street from a nifty old historic cemetary, complete with a tomb and some really interesting headstones. Shooting can be tricky because it's heavily forrested making it very dark. On this visit there were a suprising number of broken headstones, probably a result of nasty freeze-thaw cycles and the torrential rivers that are resulting from the current snowmelt.

Editing was partial desat and some dodging on the snow and headstone lettering to make the letters pop out a bit more and make the snow that wasn't blown out less grey.

I am making two passes on this Challenge. I will vote on your photo then return later(before voting is over) to comment on what I like and dislike about your shot. You can take the comments however you wish and I will try not to be mean. Just don't take it the wrong way.

I like this. Nice work. The light on the headstone works.

Very nice composition. The photo looks a little flat to me and over-exposed in a few areas. I think it would be stronger if you cloned out the over-exposed sections and then increased the contrast to get some more dark areas and get rid of some of the greys. But overall I think you did a great job =)

A little fill in flash or something...

I liked a lot, really like the positioning and centering, tone, etc. except something makes it hard for my eyes to looks at the stones which is where my eyes are drawn too. Just a bit more lighting or something. Can't quite place it. Gave it an 8.
