Hi, Frank - saw your forum comments, so took a "ride" over to your portfolio. I looked at all of them, but would like to comment on 3 of them in particular. They are Splat, the Silver Garbed Ones (either rock stars or ice skaters is my guess), and the Kiwi Kitchen Table.
Each one of them has a special quality that drew me to them. The water-spout effects on the kiwi''s and the splash of the egg-splat were riveting. The Silver outfits reminded me of one of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies (when in Europe - the ultra sheek types.)
But on each of them, there is a blur or indistinctness somewhere in the subject area. I'm not technical, and cannot offer any concrete advice. Others may have found themselves in the odd position of liking your work a lot, but not wanting to be discouraging.
I will take that risk, because I think you have the potential for taking some spectacularly high-impact photos. But, that (whatever it is) thing that bothers me in these pix may be troubling others too.
Frank, I think you could easily become a very successful and sought-after photographer. Swallow any pride that might be an obstacle and take a class, humble yourself before harsh professional critics, and talk to everyone you know. But, find out what that one little change is that your pix need; fix that; and hang out your shingle.
