I was going to submit a very dull high-key shot of coffee beans spilling out of a cup. But I thought I couldn't bear to have that on here.

I'm certain folks won't see it as sellable - but I could easily imagine it being used for a number of purposes. Any kind of advert where you want an apparently intelligent (the clothes, the case), independent-minded (the hat, the bike) bloke to imply solidity, thoughtfulness, and some degree of sophistication.

I love the old-fashioned feel of it, personally: it reminds me of certain 1930's Parisian photographs; I think that has a much to do with the absence of modern impedimenta in the scene - no signs, no adverts, no transport (well, there is a train crossing the bridge actually, but it's easily missed).

I don't actually think it's his bicycle at all: he has no cyle-clips, which I think someone of his dress sense would have, it's a ladies bike - though I could imagine him happily riding a ladies bike - and it's chained to the railings, even though he's stood next to it.

Ah well, it gets an exhibition, at least.

I like the colour(or abscence) in this shot and agree with others its sort of aged, did you try sepia? Liked your comment about it being a ladies bike, I hadn't noticed.

I don't quite understand why you need to justify your choices so elaborately. this one was a good one (the choice), the picture also.

I really like the composition and tones of this shot. Very nicely exposed! The background haze produces a nice contrast for the sharp foreground..... makes for a 3D look. Great job!

There is some pleasing atmosphere about this picture, its composition and simplicity. It is one of my favorites in this challenge. I hope it will do well. (10)

Near perfect. What I like about photographs like this is that no element in the scene will show you in what year it was shot. Sure there will be some miniscule hints, but for all I know it could have been taken in the 1960's instead of 2005.
The shadow exposure on the person contrast wonderfully vs the brighter surroundings, the fence is a strong line.

Love the bike, the clothes and the satchel; the colour and faded background, all together a great nostalgic mood. Top class stock.

Great shot on the embankment. The old sit up and begs are the best. Not for me a BMX, Chopper or Racer.

The B/W brings out atmosphere here. My only concern is that as a stock image it may be a little stylistic...

A genuine image with a soft touch of the reality of life… the kind of reality you encounter on your day-to-day walks. Here you have beautifully composed this shot to transform a simple capture into a beautiful image of reflection and imagination.

I don't necessarily know the connection to stock, but based on photographic merit, this shot rocks in what looks to be a tricky metering situation.

This photo has such a strong old world sensibility to it, that I find completely beautiful. I hope it does well.

Wow this could be framed! Nice work. I can't see this really as a stock photo so much. But still a very respectable and highly appreciated shot.
