This is my first challenge submission, so we'll see how it goes. This is a holding cell where I work, not a real prisoner.

This would have been better without the obvious flash. If this is Fort Ord you should ahve found a cell by a window for some natural lighting....anything to avoid that obvious harsh flash with the shadows that take us out of the mood. Nice clothes for an inmate!

Great idea, but the flash was a bad idea. A long exposure would have been a good idea here.

You could have done a much better job with the lighting in this photo. It looks like you just grabbed a snapshot with a short exposure and a bright flash, then cropped it to look nicer. The flash ruined this. The bars are way too peaky in the center, and then have a distracting shadow on the back wall. The right lighting can really add to the mood of the photo, and the wrong lighting can ruin it completely.

next time try to photograph with a higher quality setting. the bars in this photo are a bit pixel-ish

I like the idea of this, but the shadows of the bars are distracting. Looks like direct flash?
If the subject can hold really still for a second a long exposure without flash might yield better results.

I think more dramatic light would have made the picture much better. Next time do not use on camera flash, food concept
