My Tree
She spreads her branches wide and low;
Her leaves are big, palmate and green;
Her trunk is sturdy, round and smooth.
Life pulses through her vain.
In spring birds nestle in her arms, and
ones are born, while squirrels play games all
up and down, and often bees do swarm.
She casts cool shade upon the ground, and
people passing by can sit and rest-some rich,
some poor, some black, some white,
She makes no judgement who are best.
A grand excample of God's love, God's strength
and constant giving, my tree, unfolding
selfless gifts, Shows me a way of living.
