Heavy saturation and hence heavy noise reduction.
I am not fully convinced about the blues but... Who can control the dreams ? :)

Thanks for your comment Jmoore!
As a chess player, one of my erotic dreams have been playing chess over a woman nude body...
Dali also used chess symbols like horses and elephants with catholic simbols (crosses) in his paintings together with nude women //www.galeria.sonic.pl/DaliGal/Gal20/1946_01.htm
In my favor, I could say that the model was pretty sensitive (You can notice the movement of the standed pieces) and I did not have much time for the picture :)
I wanted to give a fogy aspect like a dream... but many people got lost in the fog, and as I said before: the blue tone doesnot fit in my book very much :(. You are right: the light could be improved (maybe with another camera :).
Thanks again.

Your concept for this photo is unclear to me and is there for hard for me to place it in the surreal challenge. But also remeber that I can't read your mind so it could very well be surreal to you. I will only critique from a photographic stand point and not about your concept. I think that your lighting could be improved, maybe a stronger side light and more shadow. I prefer more dramatic light 80% of the time. I like that it is not centered from top to bottom, but the pawns feel a little tight at the top. I don't mind the softness of the shot, from noise reduction I am assuming. I think you should even play around with making a little softer, maybe add some noise??? Also the tones are so beautiful I would have liked to see it without. Please remember that these are all suggestions and the best way to figure out what you like best is to make changes and compare, sometimes it just helps to have another set of eyes to help with changes. In the end you need to make your photo what you want it to be and if you love it, don't worry about what anyone else has to say. Overall it is intersting, but please let me know what your concept was I am very interested.

Quite odd feeling for a basic edited image, but that's not bad at all. Humanism in tones and the posture of the pieces is compelling. Cropping is bit tight in an odd way, but background is horrible and tints to red. Can't say what this is about, but warm tones make it a pleasurable dream not surreal one.
