This is a detail of my pet macaw named Macawly. He doesn't like to sit still so I held the tip of his beak steady with left hand and took the picture with my right. The camera was set on supermacro. EV was -0.7. I slightly adjusted contrast, brightness, and color saturation. I just joined dpchallenge and would appreciate any critiques or helpful comments.

Extremely nice macro. The dark lower left corner is certainly surrealistic. The depth of field is quite low so the focus here was crucial. Well done. I think one of the nice things about photography is seeing what is normally overlooked or unseen because of the nature of our vision. Thank you for allowing me to see something I never else would have seen. A 9.

Cool idea. The colours are very bright which makes the picture appealing. Unfortuatly, the composition is not tight enought and lets the viewers down, telling exactly what the picture is about.. which is not surreal. A closer crop of the white red and eye would've made for something alot more creepy. 5

Very cool close up. Love the feather detail under the eye. Nice nuclear red. I would have cropped the beak out.

Interesting but a little more depth of field is needed.

Beautiful shot. No relevance to the challenge, in my view.
