On Sunday night at Boreal Mountain playground, Mother Nature left a wave of WHITE snow for Monday's Snowboarding. I shot my Sony in speed burst mode to catch as many beautiful powder snow shots as I could within each snowboard run. I also used the P mode to set the aperature at the level to make the shutter speed as fast as possible, trying to achieve the sharpest focus for an action shots( much easier to achieve with a 35mm camera). Snowboarding is my favorite subject to photograph since 1993!

I would have cropped significantly to focus on the boarder and the snow wave, but this is still quie good

nice composition...but your sky isnt white

Nice catch. It would like to see more detail in the subject's face but I guess if the sun was on that side then you wouldn't have the cool backlighting on the snow.

The light on the snow is beautiful and the position of the snowboarder is good.
A clockwise rotation, say about 4° would help because the trees don't feel right. I even wonder if the image would be stronger without the trees. -5

I think the backlighting kills it for me (as does the sky for this challenge). Perhaps cropping out the trees would help the composition, as well, letting your eye quickly settle and focus on the snowboarder. Fun shot.

a literal interpretation of the challenge title, while a good photo, there is no light colors contrasting white, other than the sky

Impressive capture of snow... well done.

Good catch on the action!

Here is your billboard shot! Oops wrong challenge. That is some crisp fresh powder. Good luck.

Oh yeah, this is a 10. Love the back lighting, focus, near silhouette, mixture of frozen action and motion implied. Not to mention I did a face plant once doing this myself. My wife of course snapped off several photos of the aftermath. Nice job.

Nice composition. Love the light on the snow spray.

Good effort! Nice powder! The image is sightly underexposed, this will cost you some points..

Now that's cool.
