Gee, I took over 80 pictures today. It was gray and snowing, so I did think that it would be good to recreate Ansel Adams... Out of the 80 or so pictures only 3 to 5 were good enough. Finally decided to go with this one as it remind me of "Oak Tree, Sunset City" one of Adams great picture.

I converted it to gray, adjusted levels, contrast and curves. A bit of USM and Noiseware, save for WEB, et voilà.

Very nice work and worth the 80 or so shots. The clarity is great. The composition is perfect. Relative contrast between foreground and background is excellent as well. Very nice job!

IMO, the best lonely tree photos. Great job.

Easily the best of the "tree silhouette" interpretations, I think. A little corner burning of the skyw oudl do wonders here; feel hwo the energy's dissipating off in both upper corners?

Lots of tree shots like this in the challenge, but this is one of the few that really nails it. 9

This is my highest rated "tree" shot for the challenge. Pretty good tones and a nice choice of tree / location.

This is my favourite for the challenge. Perfect composition. I love the falling snow. The only thing I marked it down for was the grey sky which could have been adjusted. 9.
