There must have been several thousand geese in the field. The darker ones closer to the camera are Canada Geese; and the white flock farther away are Snow Geese. All were feeding on the ground when something caused them all to take off. What a racket they made, honking and flapping away. The migratory Canadas are noticeably slimmer and cleaner looking than their year round urban resident cousins.
