This shot would benefit greatly from better lighting. Cute kid and cute setup/pose. Seems a bit flat, though (the off white background with the wrinkles doesn't really fit).

i'd like to see it with the focus enveloping the pointing hand and sleeve with the subject blured in the background. just because i think it would be cool.

Yep. Been there; seen this; didn't like it then. But, it's a darned cute pic now! How did you get your model to quit laughing?! The position of the hands and body are just right.
