Thinking "Outside the Box" led me "Inside the Box." I figured my goal for this challenge was to think in a way no one else would. We'll see if I succeeded.

Crop, rotate, levels, saturation, contrast, clone...just kidding.

I knew that submitting a photo like this was risky in that not many people would get it. I figured it was worth it. I wear my indivuality like a badge of honor--even to my own detriment. For those who aren't very computer hardware knowledgable, there are two chipsets on a motherboard either side of the PCI bus known as bridges. The one above the PCI bus is the north bridge and the one below, as you can guess, is called the south bridge.

Don't think too many will get this - but good unusual interpretation of the challenge. Good luck!

I had similar idea, but I thought it is too geeky. I like how your focus is directing us towards the VIA chip... however I am afraid that people might get confused and not readily link this image to the challenge topic. 6.

not quite understanding
02/20/2005 03:11:43 PM
background is either too blurred or not enough - contrast with the chip is not sharp enough

Nice picture, but a little too abstract for me.

Nice close up of a motherboard! Via chipset, huh? :) Looks like a K7 series, so AMD? Great focus and this is quite the unique take on the challenge... though many people won't get it :)

This IMHO could have been taken with a greater depth of field. All those fantastic details are too busy to be blurred.
