 I set up a 6 foot wooden stepladder (the kind that unfolds into an 'A' shape), and hung two 250 watt halogen work lights inside the frame of the ladder. Then I wrapped one layer of white fabric around the ladder. This created a nice diffused light. For the background, I simply hung a sheet of black fabric.

Great seriousness; looking right through the viewer/great silhouetting. I guess this isnt helpful, just a note to say great shot.

very cutting image would have had some lighting from below though just to change the shadows up alittle.....

A superior study. This is a character study that spells out the positive virtues of the subject by imparting a sense of strength and determination. The lighting enhances this mood and the detail on the lit areas is enough for the viewer to construct the darker side. Bumping up.

The lighting here is terrific - I'm torn between suggesting you wear a plain black shirt next time and really liking the texture provided by the dots. 8
