Cool and mysretious in its low key habitat. The lighting adds that nocturnal feel and the gaze elevates the effect. Good! Bumping up.

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image to try to figure out what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

my initial reaction is that i am grabbed by your eye, but as it is looking off-frame, it also leads my view off. as i come back to the image, i find great work around your eye, cheek, nose, and mouth, but as i move from there, something starts to feel unbalanced. the lighting on the hand again leads my eye out of the frame. then i notice how the heavy border has a severe contrast with the other darker areas of the image. moving back into the image, the lighting in the background, up behind the hand doesn't seem normal. all in all, i feel if this were lit and cropped just a bit differently and if your hand were posed in a less distracting manner, you would have a much stronger image. but then again, what the hell do i know? this might be exactly what you wanted it to be. good luck!

Very moody. Though the focus on the eye is a little blurry....I still like it.

The picture and pose are good, but the black frame is way too thick for my taste. Good job on the self-portrait, though!

Interesting image. The borders are too thick for my opinion. Would have liked more contrast by making at least some parts of the face more lit.

Excellent photo, but the frame is SO heavy handed...
