Background is a trivet in diamond-patterened metal. Lighting is 2 strong tungsten downlights. Each element is tripled, INCLUDING THE SHADOWS: 2 shadows, where they cross creates a deeper shadow.
Each element of the photo represents an element of "love"; the eggs represent fertility and family, the jalapenos represent heat and passion, the carrots represent roots, being grounded in the earth. The background represents cold, harsh, modern "reality". I don't expect anyone to "get" this, but this is what I was after.
Very complex selection of the colored elements out of the metallic background.
Hue/saturation of the "subject" elements.
Minor desaturation of the metallic BG.
Relatively significant "smoothing" of the colored elements, similar to NeatImage, accomplished with a "xero" supersmooth filter.
Xero "mistify" filter applied to BG, and faded so it's just a hint.
Resized, border added.

Flattened, converted to jpg.
The asymmetry in the details is deliberate.

This one is really strange.... not entirely sure how the title reflects some Jalapenos balanced on eggs...surround by what looks like cocktail sausages!
I just don't get this image. I know what the parts are, but why the arrangement and how does the title fit in? The peper color is off, and the rest of the image is out of focus in my opinion
