 Took this photo of my in-laws relaxing at their home. That's my mom in-law's hands playing backgammon with my wife. In the background, my father in-law reading.

Cropped the image. Adjusted exposure in Nikon Capture. Desaturated with color mixer in Photoshop CS. Dodged the hand and flower pot to give more texture and balance.

This is a nice idea. I feel it would be more effective if my attention was drawn toward the hands and the game, instead of the flower pot.
