This is actually soap film. The original concept i designed for the film I was not able to produce but would have been somewhat groundbreaking. I had another decent picture from the series and was going to submit that. Then I wanted to see what else I could do with it. I channel mixed and got this which I thought looked like molten. I'm no photographic encyclopedia so I don't know if this breaks ground but I know I've never done it before nor have i seen it done. I like the bottom edge of the photograph. This happens when the soap film is too thin to refract the light thus exposing the black background underneath. It also helps sell 3 dimensionality to it. As a side exercise I was also trying to contrast two design elements into the shot. In this case it was curves/lines. You could also say the colors are contrasty but it wasn't my original intent. I also think the top left corner should be a bit darker cuz it doesn't fully balance well with the bottom corner. I actually had a version like that but uploaded the wrong file, close enough though.

Composition works well with the NW corner mirrored in the SE corner in darker tones, and the flow of movement cascading across the frame creating visual interest. I also personally like the level of blur which adds to the dynamic and fluid quality of the photo. What is this exactly? How hot was this shot? 10

Oooh very nice curvature, yellow is a little bright and saturated for me, but that top left looks very inviting.
