Taken in a favorite place I revisit whenever possible, "The Barn" became my most familiar photo this year. Friends and family who have visited this spot always like the images of the barn--so this is for those who put up with me during this first year gone digital.

Levels, Set B & W points, Adjust mid-scale. Crop. Closed line in water, twig, sky spekcs. Burned in mid-tones in sky and edges, then burned shadows. USM before and after re-size.

Doesn't wow me- the colors and sky are a bit drab- but I really like the composition.

I'm uncertain about tthe composition of this: the framing to the left of image seems more imposed than actual - perhaps a touch more of the foliage there would seem less to restrict the barn, and more to show us the natural framing that seems apparent there, and help the barn to sit more comfortably in frame. I see a conflict between the placing of tthe barn in the image and the areas of strength in this view of it: it's the gabled ends of it that most intrigu my eye, and yet your composition pulls my eye more to the longer part of the building than allowing my eye to settle on those gable ends. I think opening the image to the left would have helped reduce that conflict.

Nicely composed photograph, with good detail. Well seen and good exposure. As I scrolled to see the whole shot, a minor crop off the top may improve this, putting a little more eye contact in the water. Well done! ((8))

Great scene, some areas are a little messy (through no fault of yours of course - unless you brought and axe or some tree lopping equipment) but this is a suitably moody image, I like the colour, but Im guessing this might work well as a black and white too.

excellent work, especially controlling the exposure. appreciate that you didn't overdo it during post. can't offer any improvements, so i'll just sit here a minute and enjoy it, if you don't mind ;-)

Great shot... I would love to see this with a tighter crop on the bottom... perhaps just above the reflected tree on the right?

You had me at the reflection...Beautiful composition. Does appear a little grainy.

Excellent reflection. Tall foreground adds nice depth. Alittle crowded on the left IMO, but overall very nicely done.

Beautiful!!!!!!!!!! The image in the water is just as clear and sharp as the real thing. Great sky. It's a perfect picture.

I would have loved to have seen this in black and white... or perhaps even sepia. It's a beautful scene but to me... it looks OLD, and to pull that emotion you needed the extra suggestion hinted to by black&white/sepia. Nice use of wide DOF for everything in focus.

I think I remember seeing this recently... I can't remember who's it is though. I love this shot. The reflection is so perfect. Great looking barn.

Excellent shot of the old barn, perfect with the reflections, the only complaint here I think the barn needs a paint job!
